Re: Arsing around or arson around?! - Newgate Fire

I would normally be living just around the corner when back in st andrews but decided to come home before grad week. Always wondered if they were going to do anything with that space, guess someone decided they would...

Yeah, sometimes nature's own spam filter makes a few false positives, too. ;)

Re: Saintmail-your thoughts

One thing i have noticed about Staintmail is that it seems to put any society e-mails i get straight into the spam folder. The University sent an email about that today. For the first few weeks you need to keep checking your spam and moving it to your inbox. Eventually, saintmail "learns"...

Re: Saintmail-your thoughts

Well it's utterly failing to load at the moment just when I need to email my advisor so I'd just like to point out it's really not that much of an improvement if it has the same problem that the old webmail had, namely a high fucking propensity to crash for extended periods of time for no good reas...

Re: Saintmail-your thoughts

I know 2 or 3 people who are having problems with it but its been working fine with me. My point of view is its just webmail with the addition of a calander (which i am finding very useful as i am quite forgetful and i can tell it to e-mail me reminders). Prefer being on it to webmail.

Re: Finding email addresses

There is a contacts button on saintmail (at the bottom of the left hand list) that returns names from the St Andrews directory. It seems to work for some of the searches but not others. For instance, I've tried a few staff, and not found any. Had similar problems with the fact it demends every midd...

Re: Mature Students

As a 20 year old undergrad I have absolutely no issue with mature students as long as they are okay with their own age. By this I mean, if a mature student fails to recognise any age difference (for example a 35 spends all their time on the pull for 18 year old first years) and tries too hard to be...

Re: Mature Students

Personally it makes no difference in my opinion. I know a mature student who was in several of my modules and spoke to him quite regularly about pretty standard stuff. I think once you are over 18 and at uni age becomes quite irrelevant. Edit: realized that could be taken the wrong way, age is irrel...

Re: How Long

Yeah celt is right, its a long walk, at a very fast pace you might make 15-20 minutes. Would also recommend a bike and would certainly be worth mentioning it to the lecturer.

Re: Timetabling

The information is now available online. I followed a link from a confirmation email I just received and navigated from there to the days/times of the chosen modules. Ah yes, unfortunaltey due to the general disorganisation of our geography department i still have no idea for one or two of my modul...

Re: Timetabling

Anyone know where I can get hold of a (working) view of my timetable for this semester? Had my advising session today and was about to jot down the days of the week and times for my modules when I was assured that the info would be available online. This is the only link I could find... http://time...
