OE wouldn't send or receive from my st-and account til I set it up to do so with IMAP rather than pop3, but I'm not on RESNet so I don't know how that effects it.

Re:

I might be misunderstanding the problem but to get OE to send and receive emails through webmail you have to set the account you are using to IMAP rather than pop3. Don't know why this has changed though but if it is your st-and account you want to use it now has to be set to IMAP in the account set...

Re:

How useful or "good" a general degree is completely depends on what you wish to be doing after university. To say that general degrees are just for the lazy or useless is very ignorant. There are many jobs out there with as good if not better salaries that would require only a general degree - like ...

You can retake a year to get modules that you have missed - though if you are Scottish then you will have to pay your own tuition fees for the year you repeat. So you'l always have that option if nothing else works. But you say that you had personal circumstances that tripped you up a bit academical...

Yay, I got it :) I was trying to be too complicated. This game is torture though, the elation you get when you get one right tempts you to do the next one despite the inevitable pain and frustation.

I don't think there should be a fat tax as that is not the responsibilty of the government (and also why should we let them take more of our money for those of us that like fatty foods as part of a balanced diet!) but what about the other idea of preventing those who are obese through their own faul...

A clue for 7 is to look for the subtle difference if you haven't seen it already. Then do what the question says and look at the same things... If anyone could leave a clue for 8 I'd be grateful - I know how to work it out but I can't find out how to do it exactly. That is, I know the system to use ...

Isn't there somewhere that details what the graduate destinations are at this uni? They certainly have access to that information as do individual departments so if you really want to know I guess you could email the department and ask? I know that the employment rate for Computing graduates is ridi...

A new Star Trek film is in the works apparently. No surprise seeing as Nemesis was fairly well received.

The new one will be a prequel if it gets approved though they've made it very clear that it will have nothing to do with Enterprise.

Re:

It very much depends on what department you are with. Some aren't really bothered and if you are going into third or fourth year and it's a smallish class then they still won't be bothered. Best thing to do is fill it out now and if you are worried then drop your adviser a line asking if it matters ...

Re:

I have my doubts that it will get certified. The BBFC doesn't allow films/scenes with unsimulated sex unless "they can be exceptionally justified by the context of he film". Most reviewers of it don't seem to think that is the case for this film. Though of course the director has said that he is wil...

Re:

Depends on who's giving the interview, but both Moore and Disney have given the film plenty of publicity whether intentionally or not. Though that would have nothing to do with it winning the award of course, so I guess the film must actually be alright. Very unusual for a documentary to win it. Per...

Hmm, courses have no requirement to cover only one text book. In many cases that would very much limit what they could teach you and would be slightly ridiculous anyway. There is also no requirement what so ever for departments to put notes online. Those that do are providing an additional service o...

Disney aren't distributing it through Miramax but someone else can and will, especially now it has won that award.
