Man City drinking party

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/oct/29/manchester-city-drining-roberto-mancini Key points from the article. Mancini admitted being "unhappy" to discover that Joe Hart, Adam Johnson, Gareth Barry and Shay Given had apparently been drinking into the early hours of Tuesday at a stude...

Re: Tim Minchin. Again.

Better than his civil rights lectures. Still impressed that he's coming all the way up from his post in Australia to do this gig.

Nisa to be H&M?

http://www.thecourier.co.uk/News/Fife/article/2965/h-and-m-eyes-prime-st-andrews-store.html If the negotiations to take over the lease of the former Woolworths premises in Market Street are successful, they will be the first High Street chain to open up for business in St Andrews . Re: Anti-Gay Bishop appointed to School of Divinity

Not really what I came here to say, but presumably when you say 'Left' you don't mean liberal but conservative? Because unless I am in backwards land, prohibiting drugs has always been a conservative hallmark. Liberal parties tend to favour the decriminalisation or even legalisation of previously p...

Re: Model Principal!?

I gave every incoming student at St. Andrews a copy of “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” by Mohsin Hamid and asked them to read it before they came. It’s a quite wonderful book, about an encounter between an American and an other, it could be a terrorist. Then we had Mohsin come and give a talk—studen...

Re: Cheap ways to get to London?

My brother took a Glasgow-London megabus.

I think that by the end of the journey he would have carried out plans to kill everybody that he shared a bus with if he wasn't shattered and crippled by being in a bus for 11 hours.

Re: Sir Kenneth Dover, 1920-2010

I must say, I'm disappointed by the responses on this thread. Here was a man who served our university with distinction for decades, and the majority of the responses are concerned with this small, historical piece of tittle-tattle. He deserved better. Which brings to mind Angus the wall builder/st...

Re: Sir Kenneth Dover, 1920-2010

Is he the one who advised a colleague to kill himself for the good of the university (his previous one, I believe) or am I getting my top brass confused?
