Re: Series Three of Heroes

I've been enjoying the current series of Heroes, and of the new characters, I'd probably pick the African pre-cog as my favourite ("Why are you talking to a turtle, Parkman?") Along with "Carl Jung. Analytical Psychology. You don't read much, do you?" he's had some of the best l...

Re: Spare Change

Yeah we do it as well. Any spare change gets fired in our son's money box. When it's built up a bit we take it to a coinster machine and treat him to a toy or whatever. It's rubbed off on the wee one to the extent that he is some kind of magpie now and regularly picks up dropped money in the house o...

Re:

Okay didn't mean to delete my message!

Anyway my question is: will the current investigation into the role of short selling in the whole Lloyds-HBOS deal affect whether or not it goes through or is the merger a done deal??

In Comet shopping for a TV for my mate to take down to her new flat in Carlisle where she went to uni. We walked into the store to be confronted by the burning tower on every tv in the place. Prisoners still work in prison and they're paid (not very much) for their efforts. I don't see why they shouldn't be paid - as you say, unpaid labour smacks of slavery.

Re:

That is very harsh.

Getting volunteers for a psychology experiment is incredibly difficult and it hardly constitutes trade.

The thread was just sitting, dormant on the board until your little edit... not bothering anyone, I fail to see the reasoning for such a severe response.

Well if my experience - complaining about next door's garden - is anything to go by, they won't act until small children start going missing in the wilderness.

Thanks.

Fortunately as we were arranging his membership to the national library the insurance company called and said they were sorting a courtesy car out for him.

Oh and the culprit's been caught.

All in all not a bad outcome!

Where to Study in Edinburgh?

Darling husband is studying for his ACCA exams. Our car was vandalised meaning he can no longer drive to Heriot Watt to study and our house is not quiet enough (small kids)

Any suggestions on somewhere peaceful he can study within walking distance of the bus and train stations in Edinburgh??
