Re:

There are plenty of student flats with wi-fi connections... Most of which, I'm sure, are not configured very well security-wise. I'm sure you'll come accross some available hot spots :)

Firefox!

Use Mozilla Firefox and give IE the finger. Firefox is the best browser out there. Has your google toolbar in there already and lots of other great features:

Re:

I never used those functions on IE. I always just typed 'whatever'.com and it adds the www automatically. However, I use Mozilla Firefox now which beats the crap out of IE. It has a built in pop up blocker, allows tabbed browsing and loads pages faster. Also, it does not suffer from most of the vuln...

Re:

I've already uninstalled it. I'm running Kasperski as well anyway. Plus I have a 2003 version of Norton lying around with some licence left on it. Might just go with that. Although I do like AVG a lot :(

I have actually had AVG find viruses that Norton missed. I have also used PC-Cillin and Kasperski, all of which have not impressed me as much as AVG. Althouh the free edition can be a bit fiddly at times and not as flexible as other AV programs, it is by far the best in terms of detection, especiall...

AVG Anti-virus on ResNet

Does anyone else use AVG on ResNet? Lately mine has been unable to download updates telling me it cant find the internet connection. If its not just me who has this problem I assume ITS have made some changes to the firewall settings? Any ideas?

New NS recruits :)

I've gathered a few more players for NS. 5 to be precise. However, they are all new to HL/CS so I'm gonna host a CS game for them to get used to the controls and such. We'll soon move onto NS tho. Will post details of the server later.

NS server down

Good games :) We had both resnet and non resnet, so the server definitely worked. If you cant see it, go to 'internet games' and click on 'cancel' when it tries to connect to valve. then go to 'add server' and type in IP and port like this- 138.251.248.113:5003 Thats how we got other resnet players ...
