Ah the nostalgia. I posted on this back in 2003! I'm an 'old sinner'- graduated in 2005. Just dropped by to see what's happening in sinner land. What became of this old sinner? I did a D.Phil at Oxford and got a Knox scholarship to Harvard. St Andrews will always have a bit of my heart. I still can'...
Hello. You sound like someone who wants to stay in academia and pursue a career there. I am a medievalist who did an undergrad at St Andrews in English, and then went to Oxford to do an M.St.(equivalent on M.Litt in St Andrews), and latterly a D.Phil (PhD) on medieval literature, which I'm currently...
Illnesses aren't chosen, but behaviours sometimes are. Anorexia is an extreme end of a behavioural spectrum. This is why cognitive behavioural therapy can often help people with eating disorders. But it spirals into an illness very quickly, I think. It's very paradoxical that most people resorting t...
If you were ill or have a disability, you could argue that you are being discriminated against because of it- being treated as someone who failed when this is not the case. check back through your emails- have you had one at any point outlining the stuff that was verbally agreed? I would refuse to p...
To whoever it was that said spelling isn't important because "it only affects how other people understand you." That is a huge thing! To think of but one example of how important being properly understood is... What about medical info, prescriptions? One letter being mistakenly added or omitted from...
I for one am immensely proud that this constituency took the stand that it did. I think it sends a very powerful message to the rest of Scotland too. Scotland will become independent within the next ten years. (edited for sticky spacebar on Aberdeen University campus computer) [hr] Intelligence can ...
Don't even talk to me about Orange. They are such a load of wankers. I got stung for nearly 500 quid by them for 2 months before Christmas. This year they let me haggle them down to £20 for 900 minutes and unlimited texts- but the handset they insisted I have is BOLLOX. I got the first one in Januar...
Oh wow. That *is* close. I think you would have to go to the borderline panel- or whatever it's called- where they look at people in your position. I would imagine they would round it up, but you can't be sure...Good luck!

Intelligence can leap the hurdles which nature has set before us- Livy
Quoting humphrey from 22:27, 28th May 2008 He did get absolutely drugged up one night, woke his parents up and told them he was going to convert to Islam but I think he was just out of his box. [hr] If that is true, it's hilarious [hr] Intelligence can leap the hurdles which nature has set before u...
I always greeted people in St Andrews. When I did it in Oxford, no one ever said hello back or even made eye contact. One of the things I miss most about StAndrews is how people say hello and are courteous.

Intelligence can leap the hurdles which nature has set before us- Livy
Quoting Manic23 from 18:15, 8th Mar 2008 Christ. I'm quite embarrassed after re-reading that. In our defence (I'm sure Campbell would back me up, where he here) it was tremendously easy to get sucked into. Hehe. It actually is hilarious to read! :D [hr] Intelligence can leap the hurdles which natur...
Nursing is a doss if you can get to the final placement after three years and believe that holding someone upright when they have fainted someone helps them; equally, if you don't know to lie the person flat. Something is very wrong somewhere. It's not attracting the most intelligent of people, if t...
My own mother worked as a nursing assistant for15 years. I don't look down my nose at the NHS, or those who work in it. But I do think it's time to take a stand against the neglect I've seen. What would YOu do, Dave, if you asked for a bottle or a commode but were told to 'wait'? What would you do i...
