Re:

Could you please quote the part of the Association laws that bans the President from voting on environment and ethics issues? The last I noticed it didn't allocate direct responsibility for the area to the President - it was a DoR issue - but that doesn't mean that the AP can't get involved. In fact...

Quoting tg from 16:24, 27th Oct 2005
just a thought, but we will be able to get ramsay's phone number if he becomes rector won't we? (just as freud's is printed in the saint)

Was. And Freud was the first rector ever to do that, to my knowledge.

I'm tired of other peoples 'ethics' being imposed upon me.

I'm sure the victims of the companies the university invests in are tired of other people's lack of 'ethics' being imposed upon them.

Re:

Quoting Cain from 07:05, 24th Oct 2005 Gordon sells a £100 pizza - must be too up himself to attend meetings. And that is what they call a straw man - misrepresenting an argument to shoot it down more easily. I said his food (and by implication lifestyle) makes him unlikely to be able to understand...

Re:

If you want an alternative, I'd say Simon Pepper (and yes, I know he's an OBE, you don't have to keep waving it around) or Martin Passmore. Of the two I've only met Martin, and I know he's a genuine guy and not on any kind of ego-trip. I'm guessing Simon Pepper isn't too. Ramsay might have a higher ...

Gordon Ramsay is a loose cannon and WAY too controversial

This is Earth calling St Andrews. I see from the poll we're thinking of electing Gordon Ramsay to the Rectorship. Interesting. We seem to want him to chair the highest university decision-making body and to be the representative of the students. And maybe if it all works out we might even get to mee...

Rector slanders US students?

I'm not one of the people being described here, but I know I would be offended if I was the one being described in such a generalisation as "If he is seen going into a shop or a bar, a text on every female American’s mobile gives the location and it’s like the potato riots." So Bonnie, how do we get...

Re:

Informing people of when an event will be is not the same as campaigning - maybe you should ask the election officers' about this. It may for example unfairly penalise someone whose launch party is scheduled for Friday evening itself, for example.

Rory Still up in St Andrews after 5 years. I'm currently half way through my year as a Union hack and enjoying it immensly - It certainly beats working for a living. In the middle of applying for jobs and looking to head to London if things go well. For those interested - I finally got my 2:1 and wi...

I didn't see him, but I saw him quoted in the Citizen today. It actually had a story about student problems - homelessness - and he seemed to be a bit defensive of the fools in the university who caused it again this year. Misquoting or the start of a slide into Roryness?
