I think one of the conditions for CompSci students having access to the John Honey building is that they don't allow anyone else in. Probably an insurance thing. BTW, I don't think ITS like you using your laptops on the Uni network outside your room, either. It means unplugging one of their machines...

Well, do what Chris suggested: upload your pdf to wired, use pdf2ps to convert it to .ps (postscript) format, use psnup to convert it to a 6-to-a-page format, then use ps2pdf to convert that back to a pdf.

Or use a computer with a different printer. Any Hewlett Packard should do the job.

It might be different for your printer, but if I click on "Properties" in the printer dialogue box, I get:
