Evil Twin - thanks for letting me know. Curiosity satisfied. Sarah - if you are the same "Uniregistered User Sarah" each time ... in light of your most recent post re:CU, how do you view Ambiguous? We all make mistakes, isn't that what the whole Rescue Mission was about? Belief based on experience -...

Re:

Evil Twin ...

Evolution aside, could you believe in God? As I've said before, it is possible to believe in God and Evolution, in many different forms of belief. You've only ranted here really on Evolutionism vs. Creationism, with some other points as well. Just wondering.

And on that Link Group thing ...

Sarah, Royce, Medea, Dave, et al: I pity anyone in a position of authority in such a situation as this. They must command respect while having it known, sometimes blatently obviously, that they are imperfect. To take on such a responsibility is a brave thing to do. Dave - you have both my sympathy a...

Evil Twin: I don't really disagree with any of your points, I'm a philosophy student, and I can recognise a well-thought-out argument. I'm sure you can even explain the mind-body problem. I don't want to carry on the discussion, as I don't think it'd be useful ... except for one question ... --- Rel...

Hmmm ...

We seem to have lost the thread of this thread - but it's all interesting. A couple of points: - Evolutionism ... a scientific theory requiring absolute definitive proof, otherwise it should not be regarded as anything approaching true. Therefore ... provide such proof. And God? Well, if anyone ever...

Re:

If you contact the Admissions office - ring 01334 476161 and ask for Admissions Reception - they deal with visiting days, and the team of Student Ambassadors. The Ambassadors are a group of students who do tours and other visiting day stuff both for "official" and "unofficial" visitors. I'm sure it ...

Re:

There's no denying that, for both guys and girls, the physical appearnace is the first impression made - internet chat rooms, phone chat lines, and blind people not withstanding. However, two things are also clear: - if a girl cannot back up a good first impression with a good personality, then it's...

- Install a tanoy system so they can announce to all floors when there are, say, five minutes before they stop issuing books, so that we don't get caught out. - Stop them, and other departmental libraries, overcharging for photocopies - the General Office is cheaper. - Detailed library shelving sche...

Finding a girl like you is rare You look so feminine with that facial hair Would you like to go somewhere else for a drink? While I stay here and pull the fit girl in pink No other woman here can match your class Because no one else here has such a huge fat arse What can I say? You just caught my ey...

BESS - Bloomin' Expensive Stationery Shop!

BESS publicises itself as having great prices, which you'd expect, since it's stuck into the Students' Union like it is. Why, then, are BESS prices so often higher than, say, WH Smith for typical student needs? Today I bought a ream of printer paper in Smiths for £1.99 (plus clubcard points) when th...

Losing One's Status by too much Integration

In Britain ... People can speak whatever languages they choose, but the official language of the country, for better or worse, is English. Those who want to retain national identity in the nations that make up the UK can still speak their respective languages - Welsh, Gaelic of whatever sort, Cornis...

Two Questions

1 - The new release is all well and good, but how long will it take them to get sorted with Stephen Fry doing the audio version? If anyone knows the general delay between release of books and release of tapes, please let me know. 2 - Amazon not only sell Harry Potter, but also an "adult" version. Wh...
