Re: Anyone else finding that the internet is very slow at the mo

According to IT Services, there are problems with the University's firewall. They have someone working on it (since 11am) and hope to have it fixed by tomorrow.

Re:

But there is variety. There are different styles of music throughout the week, with the opening party "bubble" featuring the uplifting sing-along classics with a few euphoric dance tunes in and amongst. Visualise won't be solely dance music - there will be huge variety of music videos from all genre...

Competitions - which is better?

Considering prizes for a competition - is it better to have one MASSIVE prize that only one person (or two people) can win, or lots of little prizes that can be spread among loads of winners?

Re:

You can wear your gown with anything. A lounge suit, dinner jacket, jeans and T-shirt or even your running kit. Doesn't matter a jot. You can wear a tie with it (with any of the above options) - it's entirely up to you. Wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing - mix and match if you want to. Wear ...

Re:

Haha, no, there isn't an American flag (or any other for that matter) in the background. It's simply an abstract design. And I'm not an American operative. I'm not just the caretaker of the site - I own it. I came up with the current theme, including the background, and yes, it does make your monito...

Re:

Not really - the UCAS system has been changed, and the university has guaranteed accommodation to those who applied before a set date. Because of the change in the UCAS system (application for 5 courses instead of 6), more than the usual number of folk have accepted their offers, and not all departm...

Re:

I'll second Scroobius Pip, but mostly when he works with Dan Le Sac; I much prefer their collaborative stuff to his solo work, although there's a crossover of his lyrics. Recently, I've enjoyed listening to Deadmau5, Coldplay, Joanna Newsom, CagedBaby, Madeleine Peyroux, Richard Hawley, Calvin Harri...

Re:

Definitely sounds like a winner. Person in front of the wall of DVDs, with a few stacks around them. Expression of "oops!" on their face, and their pockets turned out.

Re:

Sounds great - who do we know who's got loads of DVDs available? (or do we simply persuade the guys at Alphabet to let us borrow them after the shop shuts, and hope we can get all the boxes back on the shelves before they reopen?)
