Why not just give a list of available texts to students when they move into halls, so that they can choose which (if any) they would like in their room? The list would be approved by the religious council in the manner described above. If a student wants a book on the list, then it would be provided...

Those are the kind of industries with companies big enough to justify their own graduate recruitment schemes to run events and send out information about. That doesn't necessarily mean that the careers service aren't interested in helping you get another kind of job, just that the schemes and events...
