Re:

The same happened for the Tuesday night CL games after September 11th, yet the Wednesday night games were postponed. As long as they're consistent this time I don't see a problem with the traditional minute's silence etc - anything else would indeed be letting the terrorists "win".

I've re-read High Fidelity by Nick Hornby at least a dozen times - which is a pretty good illustration of the esteem in which I hold it.
(And surprisingly, I thought the film was pretty decent as well.)

Might I also add that, having worked at the Aquarium for various balls and functions, the Water Polo is one of the most enjoyable from the other side of the bar too - everyone's always very well behaved and nicely turned out.

Bierwurst & mustard - true Bavarian genius, although it does make you fart like a trooper.
Classic cheddar cheese (pref. grated) & pickle - but without much bulk to it, a good choice of bread is crucial.

To everyone going, have a good time, and try to enjoy the occasion whatever the result. I went to the Millenium stadium to watch Norwich lose in the play-off final a couple of years ago and it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life - the atmosphere was like nothing I'd ever experienced...

I guess the argument to explain the apparently short timescale is that the damage has been inflicted continuously since the industrial revolution - so a figure of 150 years or so might sound more reasonble. I'm not sure I follow the link between resource shortages and nuclear war though - it wouldn'...

Not averse to a bit of J5, Dilated Peoples etc myself, but I don't think you'll have much luck round here - plenty of commercial rap and R'n'B... Vitamin C and exercise are the magic bullets you need (but go jogging or cycling rather than to the gym - heavy breathing in a clammy room helps spread the germs around nicely).

Because Oliver Stone said so? I thought magic bullets and so on were blown out of the water by last year's BBC documentary.
