Re: I've Always Wanted to Tell You This

Stop chewing gum noisily with your mouth open. You look like a fucking cow.

Re: Lower Rents Now Campaign

Oh and Josherick, if you want anything done in a hurry I'd strongly advocate getting as much local and national press involved as you can. I think firing off emails to the university is unlikely to accomplish anything much, but I reckon a couple of inches in the rags about "Hooray Henry's kick ...

We've still got Mr Reilly's communist housing manifesto, haven't we? Marvellous - let's build a hippy commune - problem solved.

Re: Question Time comes to St Andrews!

The idea of Beanage as a far-right Sooty is both accurate and hilarious.

As Bean has pointed out the thing that is most like Question Time coming to St Andrews is when Question Time did come to St Andrews a few years ago. Although best of luck with the event.

Re: Drinking vs Going Teetotal at Uni

I've started uni as teetotal, turned into a massive pisshead after about 9 months and I've recently gone back to being teetotal, which so far has lasted a couple of months and I'm intending to keep going for a while. I suppose one thing that the 'happy medium' doesn't mention is that in certain soci...

Re: This financial crisis...

I can't think through a proper reply at one in the morning, but I'm totally agreed that much tighter regulation on the financial system is needed.

Re: SKeleton KeY

It's a sinner classic. I can't wait until I can get my hands on my BuCKleS. Presumably they are all still piled high on MarK sKeleTon KeY's concession stand in the Warehouse venue.

Re: kfc?

The Warehouse was a triumph, wasn't it? Oh. The website says that tickets for the next event are no longer available. You can still sign-up to get texts about the buses though. You don't want to miss that. To be honest, I'm surprised anyone believed for one minute that there would be a major new su...

Re: This financial crisis...

The credit crunch has been caused by a couple of factors, but this doesn't invalidate capitalism as a model. In fact, the dramatic failure of socialist systems such as the USSR would point to socialism being an invalid model to build an economy on. Simply put, a socialist system easily develops wast...

Re: Spare Change

I do the same - I have a tube that I got a bottle of whisky in ages ago, and I stick all my 5ps, 2ps and 1ps in here. Partly this is out of an inherent dislike of small change, but I take it to the bank every time it gets full (usually only once a year) and I can have a good £50-80 in there. And you...

Re: Quick and easy recipes

Prseuming you'll eat a load of pasta, then this might be handy. It's a properly tasty tomato sauce, that is a lot nicer than anything you'll buy at the shop and a lot cheaper. I make it every month or so, and if you get some sandwich bags you can stick portions in the freezer for easy dinners. I thi...

Re: Uni Hall

Aye, it's "Old Bastard Syndrome" raising it's inevitable head. You'll get to the point when you start moaning about students going around having a good time drinking without a care in the world whilst you are paying taxes, and eventually you'll hate everyone. It's part of growing old.

Re: New Academic Year, New Sinner

Oh, and while I'm on a rant... Do we really need to have 'smilies'? One of the most enjoyable facets of the old Sinner as opposed to the web at large is we didn't have every post littered with mini pictures, people "lol'ing" and general behaviour that should be confined to those people who...

Re: St Andrews on Facebook?

Which probably restates my point. Besides, facebook is full of enough crap anyway without willfully adding more. I tire of people asking me to be a zombie or "Which pony club character are you?". It was much better when it was photos, wall and not much else, and still had an air of exclusi...

Re: Website

I've come to the conclusion that such a thing does not exist. I might have got an email once, but that has been the extent of my alumni mailings. Call me a bitter and twisted old cynic, but I don't think it'll ever be done. Naturally every Clerk who is elected outlines at hecklings the great work th...

Re: St Andrews on Facebook?

So, who can help us to get this application running on Facebook with St Andrews and our 3 colleges shields? I liked the idea. Please? It'd be fairly pointless, and to the best of my knowledge none of you will be in St Leonards anyway. If we could liberate Queens College, then this might b...
