Re: IR Dissertations

Sorry to bring this up again, but just wondering how much primary evidence people are using? I don't really have any. Also the dissertation has to split into chapters, how many are people doing? Also is a dissertation just like an extended essay or am I missing something to the way it's written?

Re: So who else is pissed off at Christmas Ball?

I never intended to queue so early i was just walking past and saw a queue had already formed so I had to join as i didn't want to come back half an hour later to join a very long queue. I guess that's the problem, once one person starts queuing then everyone else starts joining because they're worr...

Re: So who else is pissed off at Christmas Ball?

dance, socialise, get something to eat, drink, be merry.

Also if you've never been to a ball how can you judge them? I'm in my fourth year and I've just been to one, which was the Christmas ball last year, and I had a great time.

Re: So who else is pissed off at Christmas Ball?

I think it's great that it's good value for money compared to other balls. Also although people do sell tickets on for higher prices, I don't think it's that common, so it would be a shame to cut out people who don't have that much money at Christmas in order to get at those who sell tickets on. Luc...

Re: So who else is pissed off at Christmas Ball?

EDIT: Good to see the folks weren't selling tickets early, I'm not a fan of that. If it said on sale at 2PM, they'd better be on sale from 2PM, not before! Why? I could understand them doing it on Monday because i thought the reasoning would be that it would encourage people on Wednesday to queue r...

Re: So who else is pissed off at Christmas Ball?

No one cut in directly in front of me, had someone cut in front of me I would have said something. That is something that annoys me, if you are in a queue and up ahead someone cuts in but the people there don't say anything. Then again I think the reason the queue in front of me was swelling so much...

Re: IR Dissertations

fuck i did not know that. Out of interest how often are people meeting with their supervisor? I did in week 2 but haven't been again. I've been doing work on it, just didn't have anything to ask, still probably should have checked it.

Re: Russell Brand Resigns

I think the main fault lies with the producers as it was a pre-recorded show which someone had to listen to and approve. I do think Brand made it worse for himself with his first apology as there's nothing worse than someone apologising who sounds like they don't mean it.

Re: Where can I get pole dancing lessons?

dancebase in edinburgh might have the kind of thing next semester, but i guess it would be expensive to go there often. Their pole dance workshop is fully booked this semester.

Re: VP Debate tonight

I watched it all just now. It was hard to watch at first Palin is so patronising I really don't know how people can stand it, unless they like to be talked to as if they were a five year old child.

book sale

Isn't there usually a book sale every semester so people can sell old uni books they no longer need and others can buy ones they want secondhand? Or has it already past?

Re:

When are they avaliable to get in contact with as i'm guessing there's no one there just now? Also would the best way be to go to individual halls with a CV? Quoting Thalia from 15:26, 31st Aug 2008 I wouldn't do bar work at all - get in touch with the uni halls and see if any of them are looking fo...

Edinburgh Fringe

Anyone got any recommendations? Shows to avoid? The only show I've seen that i would recomend would be 'Now is the hour' at the hill street theatre, which set during WW2 and is based on the true story of some people trapped on a lifeboat after their boat sinks. I'm also doing a show,Absinthe: The Gr...

Re:

Just out of interest would this actually be a criminal offence under british law if you got married here but the end goal is to defraud the american system? My guess would be no, but i don't know much about law.
