Re:

The Union has to ahdere to the same licensing laws as all of the other licensed establishments in town-- those being "You get to stay open for the hours that the councillors (licensing board) say you'll be open for". As I mentioned on another thread, there has been a development in that St Andrews e...

My face is beet red-- half by choking anger and the other half by full, roaring laughs.

I will say this. Mr Fletcher- Watson (nee Spiers) is a brilliant man. My only regret is not learning even more from him while I could.

New Fife Council Licensing Board

After taking the advice of another thread and try to look up the East Fife Licensing Board minutes, I have found out that Fife's previus three boards are now one. How has this affected local pub licenses? I am absolutely sure it will affect the Union's license-- postively or negatively is the questi...

I haven't read anyhting yet, really, I just saw the 30th jump out at me. Of course there can't be graduates! What a thought, having the members of a council b...

Alumnus Chronicle 2007

Lookey Here! I just got my handy dandy Alumnus Chronicle 2007. Haven't even opened it yet. Considering the annual St Andrews meeting of the General Council just happened this morning (most who attended are probably drunk off their arses right now), I think that's alright timing.

Yo Louise,
Send the e-mail to me, please. Just because they asked Oli to take it down doesn't mean you can't forward it to all of us cynics.

In my opinion, the Sinner is for "anything to do with St Andrews" and I certainly fit into that category.

Oli hasn't been a student for nigh on 27.5 years (approx.) and yet, you allow him stick around.

Considering that the person to the right in that same picture also spent a good deal of time in the States, it seems like the University is subliminally adverising "Come here so that you can more appreciate better thought out university systems."

After watching nearly two dozen graduation ceremonies during my time in St Andrews.... I nearly walked off the stage the wrong way.

(I had got so used to sitting on the stage for ceremonies in Younger Hall that my mind wanted me to go back to my seat on stage and not back to my seat down below.)

St Andrews used to ask overseas applicants for the names of the other universities one was applying to (and it warned, right there, that this was a part of determinging whether someone would be accepted). There is a house in the center of St Andrews with an awesome basement... oh dear, I can't remember which it is. Heck it's probably been made into another flat by the owners by now. If I remember correctly, it had black and white tiles for the floor. There was a cushioned bench seat booth in the corn...
