Does this bus leave Glasgow at quarter or twenty-five past?

Don't want to do what I did last time: get to the station late and jump on any old bus, which ended up being the X26 = doom

Thanks! My silly academic daughter had me convinced it was 25 past.

I am of a lazy sort - getting on bus at one end, and off just near my house at the other suits me fine, rather than changes and then cab for Leuchars etc.

I've taken it loadsa times too and, weirdly enough, I love it! Quite peaceful - going past lots of fields and villages and giving you some time to yourself to really 'think'.

So, how much does it cost for taxi to leuchars, train to glasgow, then the same back?

just comparing the prices

It's about £4.35 return to get the X24 to or from Glasgow - i dunno about the train prices but isn't just the taxi fare more than that?

The trains a lot more than £4.35 anyway, and doesn't get you in to Glasgow much quicker than the bus. Personally i'd avoid the hassle and avoid the train, and this is from someone who can't stand buses.

But if you wanted to get the train, take a bus to the station thus avoiding the higher taxi fair. Simple.

The edinburgh bus is the x60 and takes a bit less than 2 and a half hours, so not quite that bad.

The bus to Stirling is terrible aswell, well the bus leaving St Andrews at 3:15 is. Picking up kids at 3 schools on the way, it drives you nuts

My latest X24 journey involved a guy sitting behind me tugging my hair shouting 'pretty lady! pretty lady!' and demanding to know my name. I moved seat three times and he followed me each time till an old lady that smelled like ham sat beside me and he went off to harrass a fife ned who told him where to go. Can't wait for my journey back up to St.Andrews this afternoon.

I go to Kincardine on the X24 as my only way to get home on a Sunday since the Stirling bus doesn't run.

That take about an hour and a half of the two and a half hour journey time to Glasgow.

Price to Kincardine £6.35
Price to Glasgow £4.35

Why? because you don't get a student discount within Fife. Yet another reason why nobody would want to stay in Fife.

Solution. Get a ticket to Glasgow, get off in Kincardine.

thats the old X59 bus that no longer exists, it used to go via EVERy town, village and post box in fife near enough...

Is that a returnyour talking about?
return to glasgow is £9. or £8.70 student dicount - wow, a whole 30p! i try not to spend it all at once.

It has cost me £27 to do that journey, one way. One cannot escape cheaply to Glasgow after 5.25pm.
