I'm fairly certain that i have more shit (by shit i mean stuff that i won't ever use or wear, but cannot part with) than anyone in st andrews and need to, in the next three months figure out how to get it all home. i figure i have about 8-12 70lb suitcases full of stuff and only plan on going home twice between now and the end of june so how the hell can i get it all back? from what i've heard shipping is ridiculously expensive and i cannot part with this stuff! the only thing i can think of is try to find other people who are going home with extra luggage allowance and try to pay them. any other ideas?

I'm in the same predicament. The only thing I can recommend is that you use rubbermaid containers rather than suitcases bc they weigh less, so more of your weight will be your actual possessions and not your suitcase.

also, is your fam coming over for graduation? if so, just make everyone take an extra rubbermaid box back with them.

in first and second year i went home for nearly every vacation with empty suitcases and brought back full ones. that's 140+lbs each trip. it wasn't that hard to bring a few hundred lbs worth of stuff here, and it was all necessary as nothing i have/want can be bought in this country (at least not without costing me an arm and a leg). so, now i have a lot of stuff. Most of it is fairly unimportant, so a few months on a boat would not do me any harm but i can't pay more than 25p/lb...any idea who i should/can contact in regards to the boat you are all speaking of? anyone ever done it? price? thanks for the helpful replies.
and yes my parents are both coming for graduation and each taking 2 bags home....it makes a dent but still plenty left
