:( where do you stay? if its feesable, take the rug outside and hose it down/ pour buckets of hot soapy water on it. Are you sure its worth keeping it? and why isn't the third party humbled into either cleaning or replacing it?!

If you live in a hall of residence, I would ask the cleaners for advice. I think by contract they are not required to clean up bodily fluids, but they may have some helpful insights that could help you avoid being fined for replacement of the carpet tiles.

go to tesco and buy some mr muscle or vanish or something, then follow the instructions. Lots of soap and water and a good scrub always helps too.

Vax carpet cleaner, even if you dont have the Vax to go with it. And youll be looking at several proper scrubbings, theres no magical once over cure for stinky puke carpet. And itll take ages for the carpet to dry usually. Best of luck, at least you arnt having to clean an entire staircase.

Speaking as a person who had the exact same problem myself only a couple of weeks ago, I have a suggestion. Not sure what to use for the initial cleaning, it was something coloured like red aftershock that I burrowed fromt the New Hall cleaner. But I'd recomend a big bottle of fabreese (antibacterial one) or soemthing similar, and completely blitz the offending area everytime you think about it. Do this for as long as it takes. In my case, several days until the bottle ran out. After that, I got a can of Oust and used it in a similar manner. Now my bedroom is blissfully vomit-stink free, and smells like a bed of flowers!
