Frustration of the maximal variety... Ok, so, i dont know what to do. Over the summer my closest group of friends in the world treated me in a way which made me think that i do not know them and can never be their friends again. They hurt me terribly & i thought uni would help me sort my life out and forget about them. Except its 5 months im still haunted by the whole thing and cant forget them. Hence here i am at 02.05am feeling sorry for myself again and unable to sleep... Ive made friends here and keep myself busy but im still haunted by the whole thing. Any suggestions as to how i can get over those which hell iteslf produced?...

unfortunately, no.

Some of my "friends" really hurt me last year and I found after a while that the only way I could move on was to talk to them, so maybe try that if you haven't already. Sometimes people aren't who you want them to be and it really sucks but that's life. Otherwise keep on doing what you are and stay busy. Or just talk to people you know about it so it's not so pent up.

Not sure how much help this is but try not to stress so much.

Last year one of my friends was a complete bastard. I blocked it out for a while and tried to stay friends with them but after a while i was sick of it. I told one of my other friends and they were good for a while but when we came back after the summer they just started ignoring me like i was the one who'd been a bastard.

People can be shitty and hurtful. You should be glad you have friends here - the depression has led to me drifting away from a lot of my other friends as well.

Can't really suggest anything for making it easier - except just to keep reminding yourself that not everyone is like that.

hey...wow i didnt think so many people "friends" had been so cruel to them. Just before i moved school to do my highers i had a really close group of friends that got jealous of another friend of mine and played a really cruel joke on us both. Needless to say i was enraged and never spoke to any of them for almost 2 years. I got over it eventually and realised that they clearly didnt value my friend or i as people. I now smile at them when i see them around and i know it hurts really badly at first and will for quite a while but forgive and forget (maybe not completely) its cliché i know but it works.

It is somewhat comforting to know that other people have gone through similar things.

My best friend in the whole world started pretending I didn't exist when we went into high school. Well, she started pretending everyone but her boyfriend and two new friends didn't exist, which just pissed off her old ones but really hurt me as we WERE best friends and I trusted her more than anyone, especially after I had had some bad experiences with people I had been friends with, I had trusted. I was just crushed.

Sometimes I think, pathetically, that some part of me still hasn't gotten over it because I have a hard time really trusting people anymore.
Oh well. time heals all wounds and all that.

I never realize that things were bad as they really were until I am well out of it.
