Alopecia Areata

Postby alopecia_sufferer on Fri Apr 14, 2006 8:09 pm

Having had Alopecia now for 2 and a half years and been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride with it, just wondering if anyone else has suffered from it and got through it or still suffers from it. Also if anyone has any advice as to how they dealt with it i would very much appreciate it!

Thanks in advance!

Have you had your hormones checked out? My dad found a couple of bald patches around his temples which didn't correspond with normal male pattern baldness. He took a blood test and it turned out he has hypothyroidism. He has to take extra tyroxine hormone. It looks like the hair's starting to come back in a little where he lost it. Hope you're OK!
