iPhone help

Postby HarryP on Mon Sep 08, 2008 11:27 am

Hi guys,

A friend of mine recently bought an iPhone and has had some difficulty when trying to upgrade to 1.1.1... he is now trying to reinstall 1.0.2 but it doesn't appear to work at all! Any ideas?

Also, this may or may not be related to manually changing service providers...

Thanks in advance

I'm assuming it's a first generation iphone?

What do you mean he manually changed service providers?

Which software did he use to unlock it? More info needed!

I believe iTunes should offer the facility to perform a factory reset on the phone to restore it to the original settings.

Following that it would be a case of installing Apple's own software updates. The one major issue you might find with that is that they will only offer you the most recent version via iTunes. Being picky about which version you want to use may require searching for an advanced guide.

Jailbreaking shouldn't be too much of an issue as there are several applications that can perform the process at the touch of a button and plenty of tutorials/youtube videos on the subject.
