budget digital camera

Hiya, I really want a digital camera for summer but i'm poor at the moment. Does anyone know if cameras under £100 are pants? Am I better off saving up for an expensive one? All I want is nice quality photos!

Depends what you're looking for. 8MP or more is acceptable. In currys there's one for 90 squid reduced from 200 that has 10MP and 3x optical zoom, and you will get pretty nice photos from that. unless you're a camera buff and what have you. you'll have no probs getting something for less than a hundred... just look at the MP.

Most photographers will swear by the more expensive SLR cameras but take a look in argos and get a fairly cheap 8mp one if you aren't looking for the best quality in the world. The price after the cameras in that range goes up very quickly.

Wow, took me more than half an hour to post that. Bloody procrastination -.-

To be honest, anything more than 5MP and the quality is fine. Anything more is only really noticeable when you start blowing images up above standard photo size.
If you do physics, panic.
