X59 or X60 you can look on the stagecoach website for times. Ends up in the bus station in Edinburgh. Takes more than 3 hours though I think, however, scenery is rather nice. :)

If you take the X59 it takes 1 hour 45 minutes, and it stops at Edinburgh Bus Station, which is one minute's walk from Prince's Street and about three minute's walk from the train station.

X59, X58/X60
Take X59 because it takes less time (although I heard that X58/X60) is rather lovely coastal route.
Anyway, remember that you are entitled to have a student discount, because your bus is crossing the bridge.
However there is no return ticket discount in this case, or so I've been told. So you buy on-way ticket and then again one-way ticket to get back. Sometimes, you have to change the bus in Glenrothes, so then you take bus X24 (important notice, check the schedule for details!)

It is really easy to find your way around Bus Station in Edinburgh.

By all means get a return (or a student return, if they sell you one). The return will set you back 11 pounds, and the student return should be £10.50. From what I've heard though, some drivers won't sell student returns, but it's worth asking.

A student single will be in the £6-6.50 range (somebody more knowledgeable can confirm this), so either way a return ticket will be cheaper if you're coming back within the allotted time period.

I think the question was asked on Friday. The user joined the Sinner in 2008.
