Do Dateable men exist?

Postby bored and confused on Fri Sep 11, 2009 4:16 pm

I’m a nice person and, as my father so kindly put it, I don’t look like a Cyclops. Sometimes I’m witty and usually I cook delicious food. I won't lie I have met men but they have all been either peculiar, whiny, clingy, obsessive, drug addled or Canadian. Reply if you don't fit those categories.

What's wrong with being Canadian? (Sorry, I'm peculiar.)

From observation I have noticed that Canadians are just Americans lite. They're kind of like the Tesco value version and because of this they have a chip on their shoulder. Are you collect and stuff dead animals peculiar or "I like things done a certain way peculiar?" There is a difference.

Hmm, the Canadians I know don't have chips on their shoulders. Is that a chip in the English or Scottish sense BTW? Do they have fish on their other shoulder then? (That's how peculiar I am.)

I like to cook, a lot, but my 'chip' comment was not food related. I've yet to meet a Canadian frequently carrying a whole meal on their shoulder - even though that would be kind of cool really. Now i'm imagining it, it's pretty funny. That's how peculiar I am.

Do you prefer dogs or cats?
Where are you from?
Sea or Mountains?
Are you ginger?

In conclusion, dateable men do exist - just maybe not for me.

No mountains. This is so much fun. Another problem I have is that I smoke cigarettes and apparently this is frowned upon by some man types. Is it such a problem?

Do Datable men exist?

Of course they do but women hunt the bars of St. Andrews in packs like scavenging vultures. This scares off all the men except those who are so convinced of their own greatness that they just have to let everyone else know and therefore act like dicks.

If you want a datable man try taking up a hobby.

Pubs are not the place to find desirable men in this town.

Funnily enough pubs aren't the best place to look for desirable women either.

Cats, right here in Fife (which makes me undesirable right away), both, no (worse, bald)

Having thought about it, due to a medical condition I guess I could be considered as drug addled too. Maybe dateable men don't exist after all. :D

Humph. I don't look for men in bars, sometimes I'll strike up a conversation in the Stabucks line but then I ask myself would I really want to date a man that drinks starbucks? It's harder than I had previously thought. Maybe I'll be a lonley spinster and buy a cat....even though I prefer dogs.

I once got chatted up by a random girl in the Bean Scene... is that better or worse than Starbucks? :p

Curious. If you are in the Starbucks line then you are also buying something from Starbucks? Surely it would then be a bit silly to disregard anyone else buying from Starbucks? Perhaps you are thinking too much and the end result is that you are trying to disqualify everyone.

Bean Scene is better than Starbucks for dating oppertunity BUT they charge for soya milk and that upsets me. The previous post has a point, so I take it back, I won't disregard them on the sole basis of their purchasing coffee from strabucks BUT if you're male and ordering a highly strung girly drink I will judge. Sorry...

I don't think you're particularly nice. What evidence have you to substantiate your claim to instantiate niceness? Other than calling other, equally bored and confused strangers-to-you 'arses' and (unjustifiably) attributing their arse-status as having something to do with St Andrews.

Because without some kind of expansion, currently your self-advertisement is that you're a prejudiced and binocular amateur cook with a slight tendency towards misandry and a habit of patronising shops you disapprove of. Hardly sounds all that datable to me. What else ya got?
