Postby morn_69 on Sun Jan 09, 2005 2:48 am

Is there any chance of gettingf a slushy machine in the Union bar?? Like the one they have in the Reiver, so we can have alcoholic slush puppies....

hhhhhmmmmmmmmmm.... 'tis a thought.
Unfortunately, I'm not in town right now in order to talk to Dave and Sandy personally, but when I can, I will mention it to them.

I do admit that frozen margharitas are a hit in my books.

oooh,

that would be good,

have tasted them in the red reiver and loved them,

i'd much rather have one in the union as it is my 'local'

can someone please suggest it to whoever is in charge of such things?

can i just express my interest in this as well,

it could be very very good for the union, as far as i know, the R R is the only public house in st andrews that stocks such a machine, and it seems like a very studenty drink

so i'm giving this my backing,

Yeah sure it sounds like a very good idea - we would need a big one tho - can you imagine a friday night and us running out of the stuff??? we would be marked men and women for not constantly having it full!!!!

Gets my vote, but as a barman it'd probably piss me off more than anything- but still worth it for when I'm on the otherside of the bar

just think of it as a mixer, shot in the glass, then fill it up with the slush,

simple,

I worked in a bar for two summers that had a frozen daiquiri machine: we sold ready made huckleberry daiquiris and traditional margaritas.

all the places i've seen,, the slush is alcoholic anyway.. so no need for shots!

just pour it into a glass.. even simpler!

yeah they do, and its the best option... that way people can chose the alcohol to put in their slush

Loving the idea of a slush machine! Probably a better idea to have the slush non-alcoholic, as would probably be less work for the bar staff, and there could be more variation in the slushy drinks offered.

Ooh - and non-drinkers/designated drivers could have cordial/slush combinations. And there are people who dislike fizzy mixers, so this would be another option for them.

And this is the perfect time of year to introduce it - in time for post-exam partying and the summer semester.

Would also probably pay for itself - I haven't a clue how big the initial cost would be, but I'd sure pay more for a slushy mixer than for a fizzy one.

Go on, please?

Edit - just realised that we have the machines anyway: they use them in Beatons for water at lumchtimes!
