Walk AROUND the pier? That's going to be a mite soggy.

Maybe going to church? If thats too drastic for you try sacrificing a goat/virgin/bird over the letters, that might work :)

Am I supposed to believe that hundreds of years after having been burned at the stake, this guy is really going to give a shit if someone steps on the unfortunate spot, talk about holding a grudge. If in some bizzare accident I am crushed to death jaywalking on Market Street you are all more than welcome to walk/run/vomit on the spot as much as you want, Ill have better things to worry about that owning a few foot of tarmac. Incidentaly Ive been treading on Hamilton paticular patch for years and havent failed anything...yet.

Sorry to revive an old thread (a whole day since the last post) but does anyone of a superstitious bent know of a definitive way to combat these things? I stood on the letters a couple of years ago as I was getting out of a taxi. But this is my final year and I was hoping to cleanse myself with the May dip, but I broke my rib the day before. I've broken two mirrors in as many weeks (incidentally, I broke the first one just before I broke my rib) and now - although not being that superstitious really - I'm sort of starting to sh*t myself a little bit...

Any suggestions?

Find a black cat and try to get it to walk by you. There's a creepy fluffy one near the Gatty which death-stares you while peering from behind a high wall at around eye level. It's the freakiest thing I've ever seen.

Failing that, looking in my recently aquired "The Little Book of Pocket Spells", for good luck, it suggests anointing a small magnet in clove oil, wrapping it in bright yellow silk, and carrying it around with you at all times. Hmmm, maybe you're better off with the cat.

I still have a broken rib. Thanks, anyway. Any suggestions that don't involve my moving that much still welcome, though.
