if u were the olsenator haded out a past class test and said they were identical, if not isomorphic to tomorrows!

only 4 question and makes revision a lot simpler,

long live king olsen!

but where is he from?
germany? sweden? does anyone really know?

Olsenator, i like that.

Another thing that makes me laugh is when he says "Okayyyy", in a very suspecting kind of way. That's probably one if his cutest traits.

So in a fight, Olsen or Edmund?
I mean many would see Edmunds cool, calm exterior and conclude that he was a wuss. However looks can be decieving, and in close quarters i feel Olsen could be in a world of pain.

Also much love to ANDY WRIGHT (fundamentals of applied). I feel he is being overlooked here.

FIPS was nice today, and with his recent haircut he is looking fly.

Mathshawk, Olsen, Edmund and math...

Postby Superiorjames on Sun Oct 31, 2004 3:59 pm

Thought i would bring all you lovely people up to date with what has been going on in the maths department recently....It was class test time on friday last week. Thanks to olsen being really cute, he managed to escape the enemy in time to give us an example of the class test on the thursday before the exam. This turned out to be remarkably similar to the actual paper itself and shows how much respect that olsen has for his fellow maths idols.

Hmm...Maths Idol? That sounds like an awesome idea for a new tv programme. Olsen, Edmund, Mathshawk and The Enemy could be on the panel. People have to complete a number of mathematical equ-ee-ations (as olsen would say it) for the panel and they assess the skill of the individual involved. First prize could be lifetime membership of the Mathematical Institute...or a kiss from Mathshawk, whatever people think would be the best prize. If anyone would be interested in getting on the show, register your interest here.

Hope that you have all been enjoying your maths recently, remember to show respect at all times to olsen and edmund.

Much love as always

As i former maths student, who so the light of the arts faculty, id like to say the lars/nic combination is frieghtning. I missed a lot of maths lectures, but they were two who could certinly pull the crowds in. Nic's jokes were simply the worst, espically when priest and him started competing.

And another word for priest, though he maybe unpopular, he gets students through courses and if it wasnt for him i would still be at this uni.
Don't tick the void box. Yeah its labeled "Conservative" this year....

Maths idol is such a good idea superior.

But i feel Olsen could take on the persona of Simon Cowell, whilst Edmund would probably be Louis Walsh. The enemy would just be the enemy i guess.

At the moment i am just waiting in anticipation for the lecture at 11.

Hope everyone enjoys it today, it's going to be so MATHTASTIC guysssss.

Origins of "Questions? Comments?" ?

Postby Slash wannabe on Tue Nov 02, 2004 11:19 am

I was looking at the back of a deodorant can and I think its where Olsen got his "Questions? Comments?" phrase from.

Does anyone else have any other theories?

Postby the-enemy on Tue Nov 02, 2004 11:33 pm

sorry Big-X, i still don't see your vote being registered! not that i'm desperate, but i'm behind both Mathshawk and Keith, who he apparently thinks is his bitch or henchman or something...

the poll is on page 3 for any of you who wish to register your support, i'm glad to say that at least i'm ahead of my arch-nemesis Olsen!!

The battle continues..

Postby Guest on Wed Nov 03, 2004 2:00 am

And so the battle between Lars and ze enemy raged on, moving to a new realm, that of continuous functions, and in doing so comes a new weapon of choice, the 'sufficiently small delta', such that no matter what tiny epsilon ze enemy chose, the sufficiently small delta could be found such that whenever the distance between f(x) and f(y) is less than epsilon, the distance between x and y is less than delta. Once again defeating ze enemy and bringing much happiness to the land.

epsilon?

Postby 5handicapgolfer on Wed Nov 03, 2004 9:03 pm

u have to ask questions why the enemy keeps posting small epsilons when olsen can defeat them with ease, ze enemy really has to try harder, or olsen will rule the world!
