Applying for jobs sucks!

Any other fourth years currently filling in application forms as if they were going out of fashion faster than Tamagotchis?

I don't mind the traditional covering-letter-and-CV technique of application, as I have a cut-and-paste covering letter explaining just how dynamically awesome I am and my CV looks pretty, but these online application forms are hellish.

"Give an example of a leader who has inspired you. What can you learn from his example?"

"Give an example of a time you had to work in a team to attain a common goal."

Apparently my Maths degree is something of a bonus, as I've only had one outright rejection and several invitations to interview, but these interviews do mean I'll have to get a haircut for the first time since 2002 and settle for the dreaded business hair.

Man. First years! get off the internet! you don't know what you're missing!

You're applying for jobs while you're still a student!? Like, proper jobs? But you have at least 6 months of dole to look forward to first, and even after 6 months all they do is send you on training courses. It was over a year between my graduation and my first job, just slow down.

I know exactly what you mean about the crappy questions on application forms though. And just think, you've got the interviews still to look forward to where there'll ask equally crappy questions and expect an immediate answer.

Applying for jobs is a really demoralising process, see this rant from last august.

I'm not doing this for pleasure, believe me - all the jobs I'm interested in have closing dates for applications between Hallowe'en and Christmas and those don't actually start until next September at the earliest. Pants.

Applying for jobs isn't half as bad as sucking for a job.
I'm not a large water-dwelling mammal Where did you get that preposterous hypothesis? Did Steve
