What do you want?

Postby Rufus on Sat Apr 23, 2005 9:25 pm

(Sorry to continue the onslaught of facile question threads, insomnia can addle one's judgement).

But if you could suddenly have your heart's desire, the one thing that could make your life just that little bit better, what would it be?

Mine would be the ability to tell people exactly what they meant to me rather than leaving it until the worst possible moment when it can look contrived, or too little too late and too late to matter.

If we're talking materially it would have to be all the cds on my Amazon wishlist.

But otherwise - a bit more charm.

I would like my penis back. It went missing three weeks ago. I don't think it will be able to survive out in the wild for long.

I agree with Dunqn - all i can ever ask for is to be happy. I like to think that whatever power might be granting any wishes of mine would be far more likely to know what'd make my life more happy than i would.

ooh, got a wee list here:

1. my american, back from america-I have to wait until the end of May before that happens :(
2. to publish a book of poetry (hey so what if no one will read it? I'd feel good about myself!)
3. to write a novel (no chance, haven't got the attention span)
4. chocolate soya milk
5. to live a good life, without selfishness or being a doormat.
6. an end to all wars and global hunger and AIDS. not for any humanitarian reasons, its just that I don't like watching the news and feeling guilty
7.mmm, jaffa cakes sound good

both the strength and desire to distance myself from the many short-term luxuries in this life that ultimately make us unhappy. If I could havve that, many other things would follow, like satisfying work, a life well-lived, and the happiness that goes with both.

Gathering fuel in vacant lots.
Neither the storms of crisis, nor the breezes of ambition could ever divert him, either by hope or by fear, from the course that he had chosen
