This is great. All you have to do is call a Tory selfish and you remove any ammunition they might have. They have no response. Come on guys, put up a fight at least.
I listen to feminists and all these radical gals - most of them are failures. They've blown it. Some of them have been married, but they married some Casper Milquetoast who asked permission to go to the bathroom. These women just need a man in the house. That's all they need. Most of the feminists need a man to tell them what time of day it is and to lead them home. And they blew it and they're mad at all men. Feminists hate men. They're sexist. They hate men - that's their problem. ~Jerry Falwell

It is not selfish to keep what you earn. Being selfish is when you keep something that you should give, not when you keep something you have a complete choice over keeping. This is the principle behind charity.

Socialism is enforced charity.

theres another oversimplification for you.

Makign Britain a better place, very selfish.

Value for money and efficient public services rather than tax and spend and waste. Very selfish.

Controled immigration, with dedicated border police, very selfish.

Giving power back to police and schools to make their own decisions, without beurocratic overseers, very selfish.

Cleaner hospitals, so less people die, very selfish.

More money for pensioners, very selfish.

I can go on, with all those oh so selfish Conservative policies if you'd like.

Do us all a favour, all you scaremongering, predudice liberals and socialists, and go shut the fuck up untill you come away from cloud cookoo land and enter the real world, where people like the money they earn, not just the rich, but everyone.

We can make Britain better. Vote Conservative, their policies make a lot of sense, most of them are plain common sense, something Labour, LibDems and SNP fail to grasp.

The best thing would be to increase taxes for smokers, increase the price of a pack of fags to lets say 30 quid, stop benifits for smokers, cut pensions for smokers etc etc. No free health care for smokers either.

Ah, the cut and thrust of enlightened political debate.

I wasn't for taking the vote away from students when I facetiously suggested it earlier, but the last dozen or so posts suggests that some of you ought not to be allowed to vote. What a grasp of issues, what literate well thought out arguments, what vitriol, what pointless name-calling, what pathetic banner-waving party-centric claptrap. Grow up, the lot of you.

Socialism is enforced charity.

That's exactly it. That's why it's so brilliant.

You're never going to be able to get enough out of people voluntarily to be able to sustain the social programs that everyone deserves to have, so the solution, my friends, is to tax, tax and tax again.

If you think about it, every time you pay some tax, it's kind of like your good deed for the day. Except you do it multiple times every day. It's like having multiple orgasms every day! Just think of all that good karma you are saving up.

If you can discover a better way of life than office-holding for your future rulers, a well-governed city becomes a possibility. For only in such a state will those rule who are truly rich, not in gold, but in the wealth that makes happiness--a good and wise life.

Honistly, what you have spouted out is the usual politcal claptrap.

i.e. "Hard working people who play by the rules"

That is everybody! Everybody is, in thier own eyes a hard working person who plays by the rules! It is totaly meaningless. Like most of your post. Totaly meaningless.

It is the method by which these "meaningless" phrases are to be carried out that is madness.

Of course, I expect this, like most of my last post to fall on deaf ears.

I wouldn't be so quick to swallow this 'Labour is the party that promotes equality' bullshit. Its best not to confuse ideology with hard facts.

Under the current governement the poorest 20% pay a greater proportion of their income in taxes. The system in place at the moment is really re-enforcing inequality if you look at the figures. Plus the tax increases by Labour tend to be applied to goods on which the poor spend a larger part of their income. Although the poor do recieve benefit in kind from government services, Labours tax regime has made things slightly worse rather than better since 1997. In fact the tax burden on the poorest 20& has risen from 37.8% to 37.9%, which is the equivilent of £10 more a year. For the poorest 10%, its risen from 44.0% to 46.7%. Most experts agree that Labour taxes are going to have to rise to meet their spending commitments, having said that, Brown has proved them wrong in the past.

fuck it all....i'm not voting. the whole ordeal has far too many implications. the simple action of going to vote is time that could be spent doing better things.

and no, i'm not lazy. i'll be out having a walk, on my bike or maybe even doing some lab work.

Nah, not a typo. How about I just give you the link to the site I nicked it off rather than passing it off as my own independant research :)
