Rob - I quite agree. I though Kathleen Jamie was pretty out of line with that one. I mean, everyone writes and is inspired in a different way and who cares what it is as long as it works for them? I almost laughed out loud when she said, "If anything inspires you so much that you just have to write a poem about it - don't! That's no way to go about writing a poem!" Bollocks to that.
It would be funnier but I have her for my Creative Writing module next semester (I'm an English and Geography kid who's now down to English). Should be interesting...
