I suggest not just a bonfire of the Quangos, but a bonfire of the entire numptocracy that governs our every waking second...

I think its a bit stupid to say that future applications will be let through because of the height of the applicants, when this particular application is based in its entireity on the issue of height.

Given that planning permission is delth with on a case by case basis I think it unlikely that this will somehow open the floodgates to profuse and dangerous home improvment schemes.

In the end though, this is not really discrimination, its just stupidity.

If you ask me, it's fucking ridiculous that the government can dictate what you do to your own home. It's a nonsense. Who could possibly be adversely affected by this couple raising the roof?

While admittely the council here are being a bit silly, would it not be fair to say that they surely must of looked at the house first before moving in? Surely if your 6'8" perhaps a old-fashion bungalow isnt too sensible? Anyway im sure if they sold that lovely wee house they could afford something in aberdeen, even with the house prices there.

Ah, but, we live in a world now where everybody has the "right" to have an old-fashioned house however impractical it might be. I'm surprised, given that they consider height a "disability" they they didn't apply for a government grant to modify the house, they'd probably have been allowed that.

Yeah surely when you look round a house before you buy it and bang your head on the ceiling you might just have a flash of inspiration "This house isn't for me". Its not like they suddenly became 6'10" having moved in I mean come on, use some sense.

Put it this way, if they were handicapped and refused permission for a wheelchair ramp or similar people would be up in arms and decrying the end of humanity... All they want is the pleasure to live in their OWN HOUSE without banging their heads all the time, and to fuck with anyone that might cry if a house suddenly became a foot and a bit taller.
