What does St Andrews need most?

I agree on the train station. How about a dentist that takes on patients?! And a decent swimming-pool where the water isn't 30°C.

I don't understand this obsession with a train station. There's nowhere in St Andrews to put a station. Any possible site would be so far from town that you'd almost be at Leuchars anyway.

why not put a train station where it used to be, get rid of the big car park down near kinburn park and stick a train line back into the town centre.

that said, leuchers isnt too far and only costs a couple of quid by bus.

Ah but some moron went and built the Old Course hotel over the route of the line. That said, knock that monstrosity down, and all you need is 2 bridges rebuilt, a carpark removed and a housing estate in Guardbridge demolished and you'd be laughing...
...while a train station would be nice it really isnt practical without a huge outlay. What would be nice would be a dedicated bus that runs to and from Luechars and meets every train and waits for it, rather than freezing your nuts off in the bus shelter at 11PM because the bus you were meant to get pulled away when he saw you walking over the bridge.

Sorry, I usually am not the type to taint all of the St Andrews townspeople with the same brush, but it's a reaction to one of them having the typical "I hate students" attitude with me just now and I'd rather get it out on the sinner than in real life.

My real estate agent had the galls to welcome herself into the flat. When I found her downstairs she then had the galls to tell me how horrendous I was for having dirty dishes.
Ummm.... Want to know what I told her about?
-How she just illegally came into the flat
-illegal microwave: failed a PAT test last February and has a red "unsafe do not use" sticker on it.
-a bathroom without a wall which they told us a carpenter was coming for in August
-broken window which hasn't been fixed since August (it's colder inside than outside!)
-broken washing machine: we notified them in September about it. We were standing in a different room at the time and this is my favourite part. She retorted with "So those clothes in there are from September?" I love that immediately after letting herself into my flat, she took the time to look inside the washing machine and feel wet cloths, but didn't notice that the detergent hadn't even been spun out of the little bowl, the microwave sticker or the lack of running water from the sink.
-When I let her let herself out of the flat, she didn't leave, instead she helped herself to our post. When I asked her to not do that, she insisted that it was only to find past tenants' post--nice that there's still a pile of past tenants' post there.

-forgot to remind her of the lack of running sink water-- which is why we have dirty dishes.
-forgot to remind her about lack of heating in house-- which is probably why I'm not feeling well.
-forgot the masking-taped-window in my room-- lovely draft.
