Let me get this straight...

Snakes...

on a plane?

Is that it? What you see is what you get? If so I think I'll pass...its another Anaconda in the 'so-called' making...

Samuel L. Jackson isn't always the best with scripts, remember 51st State?

The whole point is that the film concept is clearly awful. It's not going to be so bad it's good: it's going to be good that it's so bad.

The internet hype has created this film. It's been reshot to take in ideas that the internet hype provided. And nothing fuelled the internet hype apart from a lot of people thinking the title was damn funny. It's an internet meme that's gained almost as much power as "All your base are belong to us". It's amazing!

This is what postmodernism has done to us :-D

I read all the hype about this film a few months ago, and even if it is indeed awful, I'll go and see it for a laugh. Well, you have to, really.

From Wikipedia:

At one point, the film's working title was altered to Pacific Air Flight 121. In August 2005, a perturbed Samuel L. Jackson told an interviewer, "We're totally changing that back. That's the only reason I took the job: I read the title."

I'm going to see the film even though it could be crap. I'm just glad it comes out before I have to go to St. Andrews where it won't be out for another 3 months.

This film is really for the utter win. There's nothing worse than snakes on crack when you've only got sporks to fight them.

AND HE SAID THE LINE!!

Quite a few unfortunate places to get bitten. As if getting bitten by snakes (on a plane) wasn't unfortunate enough...

Now, will someone turn this fucker LEFT?

Today is the film's release date, and it's showing in St Andrews. We're not that far away from civilisation... :s

Yeah. Far away from civilisation is the Borders. Or Orkney.

Well, true, the cinema in Orkney takes about 2 months to get the latest releases. It's a pretty reasonable cinema otherwise, though. :P

Oi! The Pavillion in Gala isn't usually that far behind the rest of the world... Though the Kelso Roxy on the other hand (does that still exist?)

Saw those Melon Farming snakes this evening... All I can say is that it is possibly the Greatest thing ever put on a screen!

Actually, an entirely reasonable film. I was expecting garbage but was pleasantly surprised. Not going to win any awards, but very funny (sometimes unintentionally) and with some nice gross-out and shock moments. Although that line was so awkwardly stuck into place it was nearly unforgivable.

It even stands up to a second viewing. Marvellous. Both times I've been to see it, there have been very few people in the cinema - is this common, or do the people of Dundee just have poor taste?

Well they do choose to live in Dundee... (I seem to be being generally abusive about lots of parts of the country at the moment. Hmm. I wonder what has brought that on? Ah well, tis only in jest. Mostly. Dundee is shit though.)
