Graduation 07

I'm not sure if this is just me being thick, but I can't find any information about graduation of June 2007!!!

My parents are starting to hassle me about how many guests I am allowed to take, and I can't give them an amswer - can anyone please help???

Also just as a point of interest, what are the procedures for gown hire etc?

I think they're getting close to releasing the information, as I was having a look on the Registry page today and the link for November's graduation had been finally taken down. I'd imagine it would be up by the beginning of semester two.

As for guests, I *think* two tickets per person is the normal allocation but you can sometimes ask early if there are any more, and then check again on the day of the ceremony itself.

Gown hire, all I know is that we use Ede & Ravenscroft, but there are those out there far more in the know about such things.

Gown hire, yes, Ede & Ravenscroft. I believe they restricted guest ticket numbers to 2 in 2006 (was at the ceremony and needed to get an extra party for my friend's ceremony), but heaven only knows what it'll be this year.

It was 2 last year but then an e-mail was sent round saying that anyone who wanted extra tickets could request them. I asked for three and was told that I would only be able to have one but when the tickets arrived there were five of them.

So it could work out in the end, it just depends on numbers I guess!

I'm in a similar parent bugging situation as Ash. I contacted someone by email in December about graduation who passed my email on to the correct person who told me that the graduation details would be realised around end of February/beginning of March.

I just spoke to Lorraine Fraser, the Academic Registrar, who deals with Graduation. This is the time table as it stands at the moment.

Beginning of Sem 2 - lists will go up of which degree programmes will graduate on which day, ie MA French and Modern History on the Thursday etc. (I don't know if it will be Thursday, this is just an example)

End of February - the web page will go up for students intending to graduate to register and pay their General Council fee. There will also be a link here to the gown hire company. A Wednesday memo will go out telling students the exact date this page will go live. Students then have until the beginning of May (approx) to fill this in and register to graduate, however, the sooner you fill it in the better. (I filled mine in at the last minute last year, and sort of messed it up and had to call people to get it sorted!)
