Don't forget to avoid hypothermia in the morning (and hangovers) - save up for the Geography and Geosciences Ball that evening! £16 inc Hummingbirds, Kilrymont Ceilidh Band, Zebrajam, a delicious buffet, black tie affair.

Scores Hotel 1930-0100. Tickets on sale Irvine Building, afternoons, or find it on facebook at:

I really should know this, but--is it midnight on April 30th going into May 1st, or the day after?

Or, to be more clear: am I going to be walking home on May 1st, or May 2nd?

If only Tuesday was a day i could skip class, but alas it isn't. Not that that will stop me from going to the may dip - i will just be rather unhappy and tired from 9-11 :-P

May 1st, I think. It takes place at dawn, the beginning of May.

Yeah it's not at midnight - it's at dawn.

So you will be walking home early on the morning of May 1st.

I am rather annoyed as I have a tutorial and a presentation and a class test all on that Tuesday morning :( Shall still be going though - presentations go better drunk, right?

Presentations are far better drunk and hypothermic. If you could also slip and cause yourself some sort of injury on a rock that will win you a couple of points.

North sea, East coast of Scotland, at sunrise, in May. You must be joking! It will be c. 0 to 5 degrees Celcius at best in the water.

Yeah, I figured it out shortly after posting. Funnily enough, I don't remember when it was last year, despite going.

Although I was drunk for 12 hours, so that might explain a few things...

Don't we usually get may day off anyways? Or did I just not go in last year because I had a terrible hangover?

Some departments will cancel classes, others won't. Generally, tutorials and things are still on as usual though, even when a lecture's been cancelled.
