Mine are up... disaster for the important one although it doesn't matter so much. I've put my final choice through to UCAS to move.

Well, if it's at all consolation, I'm right there with you.

Let's see.
The module that doesn't count: 16.4 (typical!)
The ones that do count: 12.2, 9.5, 10.3, 11.8, 10.8, 15.1

Ah well, a lovely third year average of, oh, 10.1? Lovely...:(

In other news, I now have 460 Credits!

Yeah I outdid my expectations too. Does anybody have the algorithm for calculating grades? It was at www.ex-atholl.co.uk/algorithm, but that is no longer online.

Did anyone do PY2102 - The Social Contract, and get a really bad grade for the exam? I figured that with the essay I wrote, I would have had to get a 7.5 on the exam to get the final grade I got, and even though I didn't know how to answer half a question, I really thought I did better than that...

I do not understand this university's marking system!

17.5 in an exam I walked out of totally thinking I'd failed and 12.7 in Art History - which is the biggest joke of a course EVER! Ah well, still got a first for my Honours subject.

Finally, can relax for the holidays now...

13, 11.5, 10.8, 13.5, 15, 12.5, 14.8 and two more to go. But with that lot I have an average of 13.1.

Hurrah! I passed. Only trouble is I got the same for both so i probably will do a joint degree.

Also am I the only one who does much better in exams than in continuous assessment?

Out of interest, re: History Special Subjects, how do the "paper 1" and "paper 2" grades on our record card relate to the coursework done throughout the year? Are they included somewhere within those grades or will they be taken into account when working out the degree? I always thought the record card's purpose was to show the combined coursework/exam marks... but the papers 1 & 2 listings have thrown me.

So what was your final grade? I did PY2102 and got 15 in the essay and an overall grade of 14.7 with the exam so I must have done worse in the exam than the essay then?

I nearly always do worse in the exam than in the essay. In this case I got a 17 on the essay and then a 12.2 overall, so I figured the exam must have come out at 7.5 if the weighting was 50-50... But that seems to be a little extreme considering how I've done in the past revising just as much and that I had thought I'd managed to do alright in the exam.

Not that it really matters in the end, it's above 11 and that's all that counts.
