It is hideous, without merit in either message or asthetics.

It symbolises the Olympic spirit and the ability of the Games to inspire people to take part - not just as spectators, but as volunteers, in the Cultural Olympiad and more.


Can anyone see this symbolism? Maybe its subliminal.

I saw on the news this morning that they were going to reveal it today. Talked of it being "dynamic" and "modern".

I cannot see either. I would sign the petition, but really, I do not care enough.

WOW it's bad

The colours are naff, the "dynamic" shapes look clumsy and awkward. The only thing that logo inspires me to do is vomit.

UTTER rubbish. I cannot believe they spent 400,000 pounds of, I assume taxpayers', money! Bollocks. What was wrong with the logo they used for the bid?

I was hoping that it would grow on me the more I saw it, but it just gets worse. Apparently it's going to develop in the run-up to the games? And the colours? Why not use the colours of the Olympic rings, rather than some dodgy bright numbers

Out of interest, what is it SUPPOSED to look like? I like the one on the BBC where it's been rearranged on an emergency exit sign.

Edit: the more I look at it, the more it looks like a tangram. I'm resisting the temptation to load it into Paint Shop Pro and start rotating bits.

I believe it's just meant to be "2012". One would think little could go wrong when trying to graphically design a number.
