Alumnus on BBC Radio - fashion ethics

Postby David Bean on Tue Jul 24, 2007 8:43 pm

I'd recommend any edition of BBC Radio 4's 'The Moral Maze', but last week's was particularly interesting for the presence of Alex S, Director of the Globalisation Institute and St Andrews alumnus (and an old friend). It's worth a listen, for anyone with an interest in ethical issues, 45 minutes and a brain.

How on earth did Alex S go from that Tim Nice-But-Dim double moping around Regs in his cardigan and slippers to the "research director of the Adam Smith institute", or whatever he calls himself?

Well, he founded it, after a stint at the Adam Smith Institute.

Possibly, though if any man has managed to get as much work out of his shed as Alex has with the Globalisation Institute, fair play to him.

If Alex DOES have a lot of money it is because he is a prodigious fundraiser. Alex has put in a lot of skill and effort into his career and his successes should be applauded.
