Got to agree with Redcelt here: ridiculous numbers of startup British films to receieve decent amounts of finance and publicity since Sean of the Dead has been in the "Zombie Horror" or "End of the World (in the UK)" genres. While some of these are good and some of them are written by lazy overweight soap writers from Grimbsy, the genre is tired and should be left to die. Plus zombies arent terrifying any more, because even if Nick Frost can fend them off for the length of nearly an entire movie while also being technically retarded, anybody has a good chance at surviving, even the most slack-jawed of St Andrews inhabitants. Vampires, equally, arent very scary any more, because of buffy mainly, and the fact that over the years the number of ways to defeat them seems to have grown exponentially from crosses and holy water to silver bullets, stakes, decapitation, sunlight, collapsing building on them, standing on holy ground, driving trucks into them, and even pushing them down the stairs! (I can't possibly name every movie where this has happened, safe to say I watch too much MST3K). The poor guys have gone from being the elite of the horror genre to it's lowly footsoldiers, unable to control even a horde of zombies themselves!
The only thing that scares me now is tiny japanese women with too much hair!
Russians invading Aberdeen, that's scarier, and even more likely!
The Sinner.
"Apologies in advance for pedantry."
