Eric Johnson is the god of electric guitar: Discuss.
Or argue. As tends to be the case on here.

Yes, i am bored.

Eric is awesome. God? Maybe not. But certainly a hugely inspirational master of the guitar. Cliffs of Dover is nothing short of beautiful.

Joe Satriani

Surfing With The Alien has me air guitaring in my boxers.

Devin Townsend is pretty cool too, a bit too heavy maybe.

I second Joe Bonamassa's nomination, "Sloe Gin" is an awesome track!

Well he's no Steve Vai. Or Tommy Emmanuel for that matter but barring those flaws he is very good.

Ye, Satriani is stunning. It was actually through a G3 concert that I first discovered eric. The reason I attended was to see Satch. He treated us to some teeth playing during, 'The meaning of love'. Very memorable/vivid. Eric, although an increadibly reserved musician to watch, had dazzling fingers.

Townsend.....well, each to their own.

* Also, why do i have,'loltits' at the end of my unregistered name?

Yes I noticed. Not impressed.

Brian May
Steve Howe
Johnny Marr

3 hugely underated guitarists if you ask me. Although for perfection, I'd have to say Joe Satriani, you can't fault his playing. People like Malmsteem and Vai just bore with with needless widdly niddly...

This video cheers me up as he sounds as if he's going to give a simple guitar lesson and then BOOM!!

Edit :: Especially 3 minutes in

Edit 2 :: I'm also impressed by his use of the QUAD GUITAR.
