i turned on TOTP last night and recognised very few of the acts

I'll admit that the lineup at Fresher's Week has never been great (bar Pulp and Snow Patrol), but this surely has to be a new low.

As for Aphex Twin, yeah I suppose that would be cool, but the video for "Come to Daddy" has scarred me to this day, and I don't think I'd have the courage to go to his actual gig

it might be worth seeing tim westwood, hes an up and coming DJ, i personally can't stand RnB but rap has its moment,

should be worth it for that.

we should get juohn peel to do a set here... he could pick 3 alternative/rock/country/electronica bands as is his way and do a small intimate elite night here (venue 1 as it was when joy zipper came here... they were great! as was that local bunch the fence collective)

i think a small good gig that had great bands and was expensive would be much better than some poppy shite again... pop bands are just like the bop - you cannot even tell that they are live.

gah!
