They are a bunch of scrounging useless bastards that sit on thier fat arses eating cake and drinking gin and i for one would like to see them working a days living for once instead of prancing around waving at the minority that still want to fork out for the lazy barstards. Bring back hanging and hang them and anybody who like the royals are a bunch of wankers also.

respect due

The government receives more than £170 million every year from the Crown Estate. It pays back some £40 million in Civil List and other payments. If anyone is scrounging, it isn't the Crown.

Well thank you someone, for having the decency to say so.

Modern progressive what? Do we really want to turn into the United Kingdom of Great America?

No, I thought not. However, I did read from one of a person's groups' message boards on facebook that advertising was great - or words to that effect (wait for it...I'll be corrected soon), and maybe it has its goods but it also has its bads.

Let me say this,

THE DAY WE LOOSE THE MONARCHY IS THE DAY THAT BRITAIN DIES

If we loose the monarchy we loose a great big chunk of our national pride, heritage, identity and character.

If you are happy with that, then carry on, but if you want this country to remain proud of what it has now become, then you will stand by me when I say our monarchy is where it all rests.

There, I've said it.

Ok A LOT has been said but this happens to almost EVERY thread that is ever posted. I wouldn't normally say something about it but I've seen it once too often...that and I'm bored...

A thread about happy bunnys is posted and then we have 1 ignorant, opinionated, insensitive person who has to go on about something barely related purely for the pleasure of sparking a bit of trouble.

The quotes are for HUMOUROUS ENTERTAINMENT! Stop bringing the light-hearten nature of the post down and stop starting arguments with ignorant anti-autocratic comments or lengthy pompous retorts.

Like him or love him these quotes are funny! Appreciate them for the humour! :D

What, and deny Sinners a mindless, pointless opportunity to argue until they are blue in the face about issues half of them don't really care about and the other half would gladly die for? Such is the very nature of the Sinner.

...but then again, that is only my opinion.

Prince Phiilip, Duke of Edinburgh is a Bloody Legend!!! Everything he says is unbeatable, he really refreshes the stale lives we lead, shackled by the overzealous politically correct society imposed by a bunch of insecure wankers.

Yay for the Prince!

Id rather have him or brenda than have an elected head of state. We could end up with another tit like Tony Blair or George Bush for fucks sake.

they are a bunch of tight ass cowards that do nothing for man nor state. They have never experienced hardship or done anything worthwhile with thier status but cause public scandals.

Loose as in lost, gone.

If by 'on' you mean 'beacuase of' then my answer would be simply that my original statement still applies: In my opinion, if we loose the monarchy full stop we loose those things I stated.

But your question is as unintelligible without tone of voice being present as I understand your opinion to be of many of my posts.

Clearly, all this person reads is The Sun, or some other worthless junk newspaper.

You have neglected to include all the public engagements these fine people attend in the year.

I can't quite remember who it was further back on this thread who said "The royals have more appointments in their diaries than there are days in the yaer."

If that's selfish, or as you put it 'tight ass' then I fear you are a very misguided or disillusioned person indeed.

Grandpa. Exnihilo is pointing out that you used the wrong spelling of lose. Loose means not tight, or set free. Lose means misplace etc.

I couldn't care less if we keep the monarchy or not and that debate isn't the point of this thread anyway.

However, i simply don't find the quotes funny in the slightest (regardless of who they come from). Racism and misogyny do not make me laugh and i'd hope that at least some people would have the small degree of compassion required to see this. How is someone's ignorance amusing?

I would disagree with the comment about always causing public scandals, just because our media does not have the ability to print anuthing other than these doesn't mean that is all they do. They presumably do some good stuff as well. What is wrong with the Monarchy? I personally believe that maybe we should restrict some of their expenditure, like personal planes etc, but keep them, as they do bring in a massive amount of money. I also believe that we should give them some breathing room where they can relax, which given the state of our media is impossible for them. Whilst there seems to be a lot of criticism on this thread of the Royal Family, would any of these people try one day of Prince Charles schedule? Ok, it may not be manual labour, but any type of work can be exhausting and hard. Maybe some people should keep that in mind, particularly as they are stuggling with there next essay or lab report.

You think Prince Philip is bad, you should see Princess Michael of Kent - she's even more of a nazi that King Edward VIII and the Queen Mum were (sorry, couldn't resist that bit)

I just said something very similar on another thread - sometimes racism and misogyny are more in the hearer's mind than the speaker's words. Prince Philip is such a speaker, he's from a very different generation. People are all too eager to see deep-seated hatreds these days where all that's present is simple thoughtlessness.
