Fireworks in St Andrews

Is there any organised fireworks this friday does anyone know?

Well you can usually rely on some local youths to be in the car park at the West Sands with some rockets and an evil aim..... I hope there is some organised ones though, cause fireworks are great.

St Andrews never seems to do anything for bonfire night itself - it seems to save its fireworks up for St Andrews Week at the end of the month.

You can go to Pittencrief park if you want. There's quite a big thing there. Its on the fife council website.

we did for a while....up at Craigtoun. and then when that was over run by another golf course, there were plans to make it happen down on the West Sands.

Then Fife Council came up with the bill for tidying up afterwards. Which ran to something like £10,000! Nothing like coming up with a number to put people off the idea of actually having a bit of fun.

I'm not an avid firework spectator but every time I see a story on the news with a headline of "Parents' groups warn of firework danger" I get the sudden urge to let off anything with a fuse; it's only a matter of time until some moron eats a Roman candle and anything with propellant gets banned to protect eejits from themselves.

If tonight goes as planned there certainly will be some explosions, the rest of the chaps from hut 4 all intend to break out of the camp, by means of a glider launched from the roof of the hut. When we have escaped we shall all head down to Safeway, where they have shockingly good deals on at the moment, certainly enough for us to light up an armaments factory or 2, mums the word, alright chaps?

Other towns and even villages manage, why can't St Andrews spend a little cash to entertain everyone? With an admission fee to get up close (like many other large town fireworks) they'd even get some of their money back if they are that tight about it.
