Glad I'm in my last year...

Postby stan-drews on Sat Dec 04, 2004 12:05 pm

We got a letter through our door yesterday morning from the lovely people at Eve Brown. We were asked if we would like to continue letting our house next year.

Since, as I say, this is my last year we will not need the house next year.

Not that I could possibly afford an increase from £55 to £106. This for a house off Lamond drive. I dread to think what town centre flats will cost.

Thats a ridiculous increase/amount to pay! Our rent is only going up from £63 to £70ish. And we're next to the health centre. I had already decided I was going back into hall anyway, this has just made my decision final.

They probably saw the rent rises for Halls of residence and thought... 'Hey! Why don't we do that...'

Ironically, the university had just agreed a schedule of rent rises with the private sector landlords when it decided to unilaterally abandon its own five-year schedule from 2001. Such very nice people.
