why the angry face about it?

in no particular order, and for sheer watchability:

fight club, Withnail and I, fear and loathing in las vegas, the graduate, midnight cowboy, rainman, the life aquatic, cinema paradiso, the stand-in, a clockwork orange, american history x

I'm sure there are loads more I've forgotten. five is not enough!!

1. Fight Club
2. Shawshank Redemption
3. Apocalypse Now

Although this changes all the time, I like lots of movies, Fight Club is unquestionably my favourite. It gives me an enormous sense of well being...

The films I like most and the ones I think are the best would be fairly different lists, but:

In no particular order:

Caro Diario
Memento
Lamerica
Withnail & I
Dirty Pretty Things

Fight Club was pretty good too...the only film whose twist I NEVER saw coming. Plus Edward Norton's awesome.

well, there are good films, which were extraordinary, but really gave me the creeps and therefore wouldn't show up on my list (like American history X). My favourites:

Godfather 1+2, Lord of the rings 1-3, The Royal Tennenbaums, Casablanca, Wag the Dog, When Harry met Sally, Good Bye Lenin, Igby goes down

Ok these are the films ive enjoyed the most, although i wouldnt necessarily class them as the 'best' films:
1) All three Lord of the Rings
2) The original three Star Wars
3) Pirates of the Caribbean
4) Lost in translation
5) Closer

And Shrek 2, Top Gun and The Day After Tomorrow are up there as well
