For all those that bitched at me for the celtic park and st mirren park question - a quote from the st mirren park football club website
"Thu, 24 Feb 05: The highlights from Saints' Bell's Scottish Football League Division One fixture against St Johnstone at St Mirren Park on 19th February."

So the answer was right, thanks :)

I have only ever heard it called Love Street... so that's news to me

To pretty much everyone who knows football it's Love Street. St Mirren Park is probably the ground's official name but you don't tend hear anyone ever calling it that.

Another example West Ham's ground - it's universally known as Upton Park but it's official name is 'The Boleyn Ground', which nobody uses.

There's a lot of other examples, I can't think of them right now. So our quizmaster is right but it's not necessarily wrong to call it Love Street either!

Sorry, but the question was wrong. There are more than 2 answers to the question. For a start Falkirk's ground is called The Falkirk Stadium, and I decided to put that as an answer and decided to omit St Mirren, which I also knew was called St Mirren Park. Is ICT's not the Tulloch Caledion Stadium, so there is a claim there that that could also be an answer also.

was the question not asking what grounds were named after their clubs, not the ones that share the same name.

Well Aberdeen play at Pittodrie which means dung heap, and therefore it is named after the team ;)

Harsh criticism of Aberdeen.

And ICT's stadium is also Pittodrie, unless they've moved back home. Would make a good trick question.

Actually Caley have moved back home...and I've been an Aberdeen season ticket holder for about a decade now so I reserve my right to criticise all I want :)

noone said anything to us about falkirk not being in the answer - if you had we would have probably given you the mark for that answer ... although nickels point is probably true there as from the fact that falkirks stadium starts with the implies its named after the town? but i'd have been willing to have given you a mark for that answer if you'd said anything to us!

and there will never be a ban on celtic question while we run it :P hehe

not really, because its called the falkirk stadium. its all down to the fact that the names are the something stadium, but places know as "parks" ie st mirren park, Celtic park, dont sound right with the "the"
