For anyone who isn't very good at golf and has played it on a course being hurried up by people who are, this situation proves one universal truth.
Golfers are arrogant prick yobs.
Union shuts, telly goes off. Deal with it.

I'm not entirely sure the event was advertised, and was probably put on to appease the golf fans that had turned up.

if a world famous sporting event is put on in the students union, people are going to expect it not to be cut short just before the end. If that had to happen then it either shouldnt have been on or there should be notices saying the end wont be shown.
That people would get annoyed was obvious, and the union just didn't bother thinking about it until it was time to close and they'd got their extra money that would have been spent elsewhere if they'd told people the end wouldn't be shown. Then they hide behind the rules, whereas the point isn't the rules, the point is that by not making it clear it was going to be cut off they misled people, and as an organisation that is taking peoples money that's just disgusting!
