Hedwig and the Angry Inch request

Postby thecranbonite on Fri Apr 22, 2005 8:37 am

I saw this show on Tuesday (it was fantastic - if you're seeing it for the first time tonight, I think you will really like it!) and brought my digital camera, but unfortunately for me the batteries were dead, so I got no pictures. I brought it so I'd have some photos to show to my sister, a fellow 'Hed-head' who unfortunately was unable to come visit me this week. I was planning to see it again tonight, as another friend of mine was interested, but we found out it's sold out. Drat. Did anyone take any photos at any of the performances that they wouldn't mind sending me? Or would anyone want to bring a camera tonight and take a few shots for me? I would greatly appreciate it. They can be emailed to me at dm289 :) Thanks!

Hi there!
Firstly, thank you so much for saying it was great!
Secondly, I think I can get some piccies for you, and I should be taking some tonight so I'll see what I can do.
Also, it was filmed last night so hopefully there will be a DVD of it too!!

Cheers again,

The Angry Inch

Oh, wonderful news, thanks! Just let me know via email about this. Will the DVD be sold then? That could be a lot of fun to have.

Is this a general reply from the band playing the Angry Inch? Loved it all, but for me it's hard not to love a Hedwig production :)

Thank you again!

Hedwig and The Angry Inch was/were fucking awesome, far surpassed what I was expecting, but then I guess you guys knew that you'd blown the audience away coz they were demanding more;)

it was by far the best thing i've seen in my three years at st andrews...it was just amazing and the band were awesome. i now have a huge crush on the lead and would quite happily have his children.

does anyone know if there's a cd available?

There are CDs available of the original cast recording from the off-Broadway show that started in 1998, and from the film from 2001, and both can be found on Amazon. However the original cast recording is not available direct, only "used and new" through individual vendors. It may be that it's out of print at the time, but isn't very expensive. While they're recorded by the same people, they are a little distinct and have one or two songs differing (songs that aren't in the play), and are both really good.

I would love it if the St Andrews production made a CD, because they really did some excellent renditions. I was truly impressed by the lead's talent with his voice in his various accents in both speaking and singing, I seriously could not tell if he was American or British or something else until the final bow. It really was an excellent production of my favorite work of art, for which I am so happy!

I saw Hedwig the other day (Thursday). My God it was excellent. I don't normally 'get into' things (ie, clap in rythm and sing along -- mainly cuz I'm shit at it) But I really did with this. I even went so far as ordering the DVD (which I've never seen or even heard of before) and Downloaded some tracks from it. But It doesn't seem as good recorded. The guy who played Hedwig was just amazing, an excellent improviser as well. Who is he? The band were excellent and friendly too. I wish my wife could have seen it. Don't suppose there's any chance of another run???
Please.
Pretty please!

Really enjoyed it, thanks

For those interested, Hedwig will be playing again this week at Showcase in the Byre - I'm not sure what day though. But for anyone who missed it, I highly recommend it. Brilliant band + brilliant cast
= brilliant.

You're all so kind.

I'm glad you loved it.

I'll try and get those pics emailed asap.

We're doing it all again on Thursday in the Byre at 6pm!!

Hopefully we'll have a DVD made in the Byre Thetare, but unfortunately we never quite got round to completing the one from Ma Bell's.

Thank You all again,

Kitty Kat (The Angry Inch).
