the dates that they have put up for this coming academic year are totally weird, they need to be adjusted, especially for easter. as far as i can see they dates for the easter break bear absolutely no resemblance to the actual dates of easter!!

The university always completely ignores Easter when it works out the semester dates - the mid-semester break will come at a set number of weeks after the start of the semester, regardless of when Easter is. It can make travelling home a pain!

Mostly Easter holiday doesn't fall on Easter... mostly.

I thought it was the Social Convenor's job to set the ball date mia, not the senior student??

I believe the entire farce with the 'Spring Vacation' dates not corresponding to Easter at all goes back a few years to a bunch of Jewish students moaning that it was out of order for some reason.

Of course it was, the town's only called St Andrews, University has two of its own chapels, and we have a Christian heritage in this country.

Go figure

So someone asked me "What is it you do?". I thought about it for a minute. Then I thought about it a little more. All the while I probably looked like I was staring in to space, struggling for an answer. And I was. There was only one response I could really give.

"I make sure the shit stays off the fan."
